City Treasurer Kenneth Nolan
Biography
Kenneth J. Nolan is a dedicated financial executive and public servant elected as City Treasurer for the City of Palos Hills in 1977. He has been a resident with Palos Hills for over 55 years and is a member of Sacred Heart Parish. He is married to Jane and has a son, Andrew, and one grandchild, Alex. With a career spanning several decades in both the private and public sectors, Ken specializes in risk management, debt issuance, and strategic budget forecasting.
Prior to his service with the city, Ken served in the Illinois Air National Guard from 1967-1973 and worked in the Litigation Department for State Farm Insurance Company for 44 years. He is a graduate of Brother Rice High School in 1962 and attended Marquette University, from 1962-1967 with a B.A. in Political Science, Economics and Finance.
As City Treasurer, Ken oversees the custody and investment of all municipal funds, ensuring strict adherence to state laws and fiscal responsibility for a good, honest government. He has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement from the Government Finance Officers Association from 1988 to the present year. He also serves as Treasurer on the City of Palos Hills Police Pension Board.
